Data Editing:
ArcView is used to calculate the channel bed elevation and water surface from the proper combination of the GPS antennae height, recorded water depth, antennae to hydrophone offset, and submerged depth of the hydrophone. The points can be examed for poor GPS fix and sonar signal strength. Following this an ArcView script calculates the average and standard deviation for the bed and watersurface elevation at every point by selecting points within a user defined radius. These statistics are used to filter any suspect points.
Results: The red points are those which have been editted out of the dataset.
